Testimony provided by former prosecution investigator Quentin Mugg to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon trial chamber Thursday focused on allegations of shortcomings in the STL's investigative phase.Despite having led a small investigation team, the defense said Mugg failed to flag and investigate contradictory statements made by two witnesses, identified as PRH 056 and a relative.PRH 056 was interviewed by Mugg, subsequently submitting a formal statement about Abou Adass. When Defense Counsel Geoff Roberts questioned Mugg as to whether he knew about the contradicting statements at the time he submitted this testimony, Mugg replied that he did not recall. The defense asked whether the former investigator had found PRH 056's story to be consistent when the witness submitted the statement.
