Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil Monday received an invitation from the newly appointed Saudi ambassador to Lebanon to participate in an exceptional meeting of the foreign ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states.The ministry statement made no mention of whether or not Bassil had accepted the invitation, which was delivered by newly accredited Saudi Ambassador Walid al-Yaacoub.Bassil also met with British Ambassador to Lebanon Hugo Shorter to discuss upcoming international conferences organized to garner support for Lebanon's stability, a separate statement added.In response to the terror incident, the ministry reiterated the importance of combatting terrorism until "the last radical thinker" has been defeated, and affirmed its support for, and unity with, Iraq and the Iraqi people.
