Prime Minister Saad Hariri discussed Turkey's recently launched offensive on Syria's Afrin region with Turkish Ambassador Cagatay Erciyes Monday, as around a thousand Kurds held a demonstration near the Russian Embassy in Beirut's Corniche al-Mazraa to protest the incursion.At least 54 Syrian combatants were also killed by Monday, among them 26 Kurdish fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces who have been holding on to the border region with Turkey, the Observatory said.Some 19 pro-Turkish rebels taking part in the offensive on the Turkish side were also killed and nine more unidentified bodies were found on the battlefield Monday, the Observatory said.
