Despite the heavy rains drenching the country this week, meteorologists said that the average rainfall this winter had been lower than average.In the 24 hours to Wednesday evening, the monitoring systems near the airport measured 5.2 mm of rain pouring over the capital, bringing the yearly rainfall to 286.5 mm.The current yearly average from Sept. 1 to date still falls just over 100 mm short of the previous winter's 399.6 mm within the same period.The report also predicts heavy rainfall for Friday.
