The tight deadline for elections and political disagreements prevented the Interior Ministry adopting all aspects of the new electoral law, the minister said Friday.Machnouk also said Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil's proposal to extend the deadline for expatriate voter registration until Feb. 25 could not be accommodated because it would require an amendment to the electoral law agreed last year.Although Machnouk said the Foreign Minister's proposal called for registration until Feb. 25, Bassil has repeatedly called for it to be until Feb. 15 .
