Environment Minister Tarek Khatib Friday said he would rather not head the ministry when a new government is formed after parliamentary elections in May.Metn MP and Kataeb Party head Sami Gemayel called for Khatib's resignation during a news conference held after images of the trash-covered Nahr al-Kalb beach went viral on social media.Khatib also called for judicial action against the mayor of Beit Shabab in Metn, who is backed by Gemayel. Khatib accused the local official of being responsible for much of the trash that ended up on Lebanon's coastline.
