Thousand protesters gather in Beirut over Afrin offensiveIn their third protest in Beirut against the ongoing Turkish military campaign in the Kurdish-held Syrian enclave of Afrin, around a thousand people gathered Sunday outside the European Union delegation office. With Kurdish flags in hand or painted on their faces, protesters assembled near the EU delegation's headquarters in the Charles Helou area to voice their opposition to the Turkish offensive launched against the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) on Jan. 20 in Afrin.The protesters also carried banners denouncing the offensive.
