As President Michel Aoun received German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier Monday he called for the United Nations to facilitate the return of Syrian refugees to "safe zones" inside Syria, saying these areas alone are larger than Lebanon.Speaking at a reception at Baabda Palace, Aoun said that Lebanon has been trying to focus on the safe zones of Syria to which numerous refugees could return. Aoun has said on several occasions that refugees should be facilitated to return to what he's said are safe zones in Syria. In addition to the Syrian refugees, the presidents touched on the upcoming donor conferences to support Lebanon.
