Lebanese security agencies and a range of public and private institutions had recently been subjected to a hacking operation, a political source confirmed to The Daily Star Friday. The data breach was first reported by Al-Akhbar newspaper, which said that the issue was discovered around two weeks ago when an unnamed internet provider reported an attempt to breach its data.The company, according to the report, filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution office. In its report, Al-Akhbar said that the hackers had collected lots of security information and other kinds of data.A representative from Ogero told The Daily Star that the company declined to comment on the report at this time.
