The conflict between Lebanon's two major Christian parties developed Tuesday as the Lebanese Forces asked its officials not to respond to "attacks" on the party and Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai signaled that he will seek to reinforce the parties' relationship.Tensions between the LF and the FPM have been ongoing, as the LF has been demanding key ministerial posts in the new Cabinet, something that the FPM hasn't welcomed.Nevertheless, local media outlets reported that caretaker Information Minister Melhem Riachi and FPM MP Ibrahim Kanaan were going to meet with Rai Thursday. Rai met with President Michel Aoun Tuesday afternoon, after which he confirmed that a meeting between Kanaan and Riachi would be held.Rai also said that Aoun made assurances that the new government would be formed.
