Thousands of Syrian refugees in Lebanon are willing to return to their homes, General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim said Thursday, adding that there have been contacts with the Syrian government in this regard.In April, hundreds of Syrian refugees from southeastern Lebanon's Shebaa left in buses headed to Syria's Beit Jin, which is 10 kilometers east of the Lebanese-Syrian border.Ibrahim also announced that General Security is in the process of establishing 10 centers across the country exclusively for Syrians.The U.N. refugee agency said in November last year that the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon dropped below one million for the first time since 2014 . The UNHCR set the number at 997,905 Syrian refugees registered in Lebanon.
