Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai in a sermon Sunday said that public opinion on a decree naturalizing 375 people should be respected, calling the outcry over the measure "justified" due to a lack of transparency.Rai made the comments during a sermon held to memorialize the consecration of Lebanon to the Virgin Mary, the state-run National News Agency reported.In his sermon, Rai noted that mercy constituted the essential character of God, and added that no one had experienced this more than the holy mother.
