Sidon Mayor Mohammad Saudi hit back at Popular Nasserite Organization leader and newly elected MP Osama Saad Monday after the latter accused him of hiking electricity costs and called on him to step down as mayor. The mayor claimed Saad sent an electrical engineer to the municipality a week ago to argue its pricing was unjust. After holding a meeting at the Sidon Serail Monday, attended by the mayor, South Lebanon Gov. Mansour Daou and representatives from generator owners, the municipality decided to implement digital meters on all generators to help with the electricity distribution. The meters will be installed on every generator unless someone specifically rejects it and aim to help the municipality to better understand its electricity consumers.
