Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said Friday it was vital to offer financial backing to the residents of occupied East Jerusalem to support them in their plight. Speaking in a televised address to crowds gathered in the Bint Jbeil town of Maroun al-Ras to mark Al-Quds Day, Nasrallah said the Palestinians were shouldering the burden of protecting occupied Jerusalem and the holy sites in it. Despite its efforts, the Israeli government has failed in its plan for demographic change in the city, Nasrallah said, urging all Muslims around the world to extend a helping hand.As for Syria, Nasrallah said Israel was trying to shift the focus to Hezbollah and Iran instead of admitting it lost in the country, which he called the "central country in the axis of resistance".
