Speaker Nabih Berri Thursday called to speed up damage assessments in Ras Baalbeck so residents can be compensated, after severe flooding the previous day left one dead and damaged buildings in the area.In a media conference held in Ras Baalbeck, Caretaker Energy and Water Minister Cesar Abi Khalil said the necessary repairs to restore electricity in the area were completed at 11 a.m. Thursday, recovering network damages resulting from the floods.During an earlier meeting with Baalbek-Hermel Governor Bashir Khodor, Kheir and "other concerned parties" reached an agreement to rebuild walls that would prevent floods in Ras Baalbeck and divert the riverbed from surrounding mud, Abi Khalil said. A disaster management delegation from the prime minister's office also visited Ras Baalbeck in the aftermath of the flooding.
