MP Paula Yacoubian Tuesday stopped three trucks after catching them dumping unsorted waste into a Burj Hammoud landfill in violation of the responsible firm's pledge to treat and sort the waste beforehand, the state-run National News Agency reported.According to the report, Yacoubian arrived to the landfill in the evening in order to verify reports that Khoury Contracting had been dumping untreated waste on a daily basis between the hours of 7 p.m. and 4 a.m., despite an agreement with the government that the waste would be sorted, treated and arranged in packages before being disposed of.
