A state prosecutor Wednesday filed a case against former Internal Security Forces head of cybercrimes for fabricating evidence against actor Ziad Itani that implicated him as an Israeli spy, a judicial source told The Daily Star. The investigation reportedly showed evidence that Hobeiche had hired a hacker to fabricate evidence implicating Itani. The judicial source had told The Daily Star Tuesday evening that a review of the case against Itani by the ISF's Information Branch had shown "clear" evidence that former ISF official Hobeiche had been involved in framing the actor. The judicial source said that Hobeiche believed Itani had played a part in her abrupt dismissal last year.
