Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil Saturday lashed out at Cabinet's refusal to appoint honorary consuls, prompting the Energy and Agriculture ministers to hit back, accusing Bassil for being responsible for the delay in the appointments."What is shameful is refusing the appointment of 106 forest rangers at a time when they want to appoint 58 honorary consuls," Education Minister Marwan Hamadeh said after the meeting at the time.Successful civil service applicants for a number of public institutions, including forest rangers, have been protesting against the delay of their appointments. Earlier this year, Public Works and Transport Minister Youssef Fenianos announced the appointment of the 125 new air-traffic controllers who passed the Civil Service Council.Agriculture Minister Ghazi Zeaiter criticized Bassil for the delay in appointing civil service council applicants.
