A popular Beirut nightclub has apologized after finding itself at the center of controversy when a risque performance raised eyebrows and attracted the attention of the Lebanese authorities.The ISF shuttered Discotek and questioned its owner, an official statement released Tuesday said.Neither Discotek management nor the Cirque Le Soir management was aware of the individual actions of the performers," Discotek management wrote in a statement posted to their Facebook page Monday.The nightclub management had conveyed their objections to Cirque Le Soir for these "unacceptable" acts, the statement read. When contacted by The Daily Star Monday afternoon, a Discotek employee said the club would release a second statement within 24 hours.
