Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov Thursday called for respect of Lebanon's sovereignty and described the country as "one of the most important" in the region, in a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Rome.Bogdanov said Russia's participation in the Rome II conference comes "at the invitation of Prime Minister Hariri and the Italian government".He said accepting the invitation served to enhance the existing "fruitful" cooperation between Russia and Lebanon, which had included providing support to the Lebanese Army to enhance its combat capacities against terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIS) and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, formerly known as the Nusra front.
