Over 100,000 beneficiaries are set to receive donations of food for iftar meals, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon Hamad bin Saeed al-Shamsi said Tuesday at the launch of a campaign for the holy month of Ramadan.
To date, there are 15 iftar events planned by the embassy, Shamsi said, though more may be added.
The UAE has successfully carried out several humanitarian campaigns in Lebanon in the past years, donating meals, clothes and relief supplies to disadvantaged and marginalized communities. Shamsi said 143,000 people benefitted from its last project earlier this year, which provided winter assistance to Syrians, Palestinian refugees and Lebanese.
