Newly-elected Future Movement MP Nouhad Machnouk said Tuesday he had not been formally informed of a decision by Future leader Saad Hariri to prevent the party's MPs from also serving as Cabinet ministers. While it is not stipulated in the Constitution that MPs cannot be ministers, there have been growing calls to implement the separation in order to strengthen Parliament's role as an oversight body over Cabinet and to ensure that MPs and ministers both have enough time to do their jobs properly.
