Caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri said Thursday he would work to quickly form a "national entente government" after being designated to form a new Cabinet by a large majority in Parliament.Having been named prime minister-designate for the third time, Hariri expressed hope of continuing what he helped start with the outgoing government, including advancing the country's policy of dissociation. The next step will be made Monday with Hariri set to hold parliamentary consultations throughout the day to officially start the negotiation process over distribution of ministerial portfolios.Hariri cited regional conflicts and a rundown domestic economy as more reasons to move swiftly on government formation. In 2009, it took Hariri 135 days to form a Cabinet while it took him just 45 days in 2016 . Hariri admitted that there would be problems between political parties, but said, "Nothing protects us except for our unity and our consensus. Before Hariri, Berri also spoke of the need to form a government quickly.
