Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai met French President Emmanuel Macron Tuesday in Paris, where the pair discussed Lebanon's economy and the issue of the return of more than 1 million Syrian refugees living inside the country's borders.Rai also stressed Tuesday what he called the "right of return" for the roughly one million Syrian refugees currently living in Lebanon, citing what he called "safe areas" within Syria for returnees.Rai landed in Paris Monday evening alongside a church-linked delegation for a two-day visit to meet top French officials.
