Caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil condemned Monday the U.S.'s decision to end funding to the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees.Earlier in the day, Bassil had met with ambassadors of UNRWA host and donor nations. In an official statement, the U.S. called the agency an "irredeemably flawed operation" and said the country was no longer willing to pay for a "very disproportionate share" of UNRWA's costs, criticizing what it called the agency's "fundamental business model and fiscal practices".
