aims to change govt stance on Syria tiesCaretaker Tourism Minister Avedis Guidanian said Thursday his participation alongside three other ministers at the opening of the Damascus International Fair was not aimed at pressuring the Lebanese government to normalize ties with Syria. Guidanian, caretaker Public Works Minister Youssef Fenianos and caretaker Agriculture Minister Ghazi Zeaiter arrived throughout the day, while caretaker Industry Minister Hussein Hajj Hasan arrived earlier in the week. The ministers' visits, all apparently in response to formal invitations from Syrian ministers, come at a time of increased political debate in Lebanon over the government's ties with Syria – strained and effectively on hold since the beginning of the Syrian war in 2011 .An aide to the caretaker minister told The Daily Star that Hajj Hasan would not be available for comment before Saturday.
