Judge Marwan Abboud, the head of the Supreme Disciplinary Board, Tuesday blasted the rampant corruption among public-sector employees and called for half of them to be fired. In an interview with local media, he explained that his board is responsible for conducting trials and holding corrupt employees accountable for transgressions such as taking bribes or stealing public money. Therefore, the board has been unable to carry out its duties, even though its tasks are not affected by the delay in government formation. This indicates, Abboud appeared to suggest, that the department wasn't doing its job, which in turn makes his job impossible.
