Following testimony Monday from the defense and interior ministers, the Finance and Budget parliamentary committee's probe into illegal hiring in the public sector is nearly complete, committee head MP Ibrahim Kanaan has said.Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and Finance Minister Ali Hasan Khalil are the only ministers who have yet to go before the committee, Kanaan said in a statement. In addition to public sector hires in civilian positions, the Lebanese security forces alone hired some 5,000 people since the beginning of 2018, Kanaan has said.
