A judicial source told The Daily Star Monday that the complaint had been filed by lawyer Ziad Hobeiche, the husband of former head of the Anti-Cybercrime Bureau Suzanne Hajj Hobeiche, who is currently under investigation for allegedly attempting to frame Itani as an Israeli spy.Itani spent more than 100 days in jail over the fabricated spying charges, and was released in March 2018 . The fresh complaint against the actor was based on comments he made on Twitter in September 2018, which Hobeiche has alleged constituted personal attacks against his person and his family, the source said. Itani in the tweets had accused Hobeiche of being involved in a case related to illegal contact with Israel. During Itani's questioning, people gathered outside the Anti-Cybercrime Bureau office in Furn al-Shubbak in solidarity with the actor.
