Amal Movement MP Ali Khreis Sunday said there will be "no summit in Beirut without Syria or without a government," in comments carried by the state-run National News Agency.Khreis was referring to the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit to be held in Beirut on Jan. 19-20 .One of the ongoing debates related to the summit that reemerged this week was whether to invite Syria, even though its membership in the Arab League has been suspended since 2011 following the outbreak of the country's civil war.
