Bechara Asmar, the head of the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers, skipped a planned interrogation Thursday at the Internal Security Forces' Anti-Cybercrime Bureau. In comments to local media, Asmar, who was called in to the bureau based on a defamation complaint from caretaker Economy Minister Raed Khoury, called into question the legality of the interrogation. Khoury told The Daily Star Wednesday he had filed the defamation suit against Asmar because the confederation head had claimed he was involved in corruption.
