Shortly after the police had finishing collecting the statement, four men entered the police station and attacked Mokdad, wounding him in the leg with a screwdriver.Then, MP Musawi arrived accompanied by 20 armed men who tried to enter the police station, but were prevented from doing so by officers.According to Ghanoum's letter, as Mokdad was being treated for the leg wound, someone opened fire on the police station, wounding him as bullets entered through the window. Reports circulated on some local media outlets that it was Musawi himself who had opened fire on Mokdad.
