Baalbeck-Hermel Gov. Bashir Khodr on Wednesday imposed severe restrictions on the movement of Syrian refugees in Deir al-Ahmar until Friday morning, following an attack on Civil Defense firefighters that was reported to have involved Syrian refugees. The decision, published in a statement from Khodr's office, bans all movement of Syrian refugees in the area. One member of Civil Defense was severely injured in the attack on Wednesday after a group of men thought to be from a nearby Syrian refugee settlement attacked his fire engine. Deir al-Ahmar is the second town to have a ban on Syrians publicized in recent weeks.
