Parliament's Finance and Budget Committee Tuesday ordered Health Minister Jamil Jabak to present "clarifications" on alleged illegal hiring within the next week. After a committee hearing, Chair Ibrahim Kanaan told a news conference that according to reports on illegal hiring from the Central Inspection Bureau and the Civil Service Board, 295 new contractors had been hired by government hospitals after August 2017, when a public sector hiring freeze took effect.Adwan added the biggest issue surrounded who should be responsible for repairing roads in the future.
