Environment Minister Fadi Jreissati said in a news conference Friday that quarry owners had 90 days to settle their legal status before authorities start going after violators.Thursday, the minister submitted to Cabinet a draft policy for the stone crushing and quarry industry, which calls for commitment to domestic environmental protection laws, international environmental agreements and aspects of the new Cabinet's policy statement related to the sector.Jreissati, Interior Minister Raya El Hassan, Defense Minister Elias Bou Saab, Finance Minister Ali Hasan Khalil and Agriculture Minister Hasan Lakkis were appointed to the committee.
