Gen. Hussein Abdallah has postponed the final hearing in a year-long trial of a Lebanese-Australian man accused of attempting to blow up an Emirati passenger plane with his four brothers in 2017 . The trial of Amer Khayat, accused of boarding an Etihad Airways plane with an explosive device stashed in his luggage, began in July of last year. Abdallah pushed back the final hearing until Jan. 18, after the prosecutor in the case said he was not prepared to give his final statement.Abdallah said in May that he had received a letter from the Australian authorities saying that an Australian jury had found Khayat's brother Khaled guilty of his role in the bomb plot.
