Separate road accidents claim 2 lives

BEIRUT: Two people were killed Monday in separate road accidents in the cities of Jbeil and Batroun, the National News Agency reported.

In Jbeil, a woman was killed when her Kia Rio crashed into an electricity pole near Mar Gerges Church.

The police arrived at the scene of the accident and a Red Cross ambulance transported the victim’s body to a nearby hospital.

Elsewhere, an unidentified vehicle killed a man in a hit-and-run accident on Batroun Highway.

The victim’s body was taken to a nearby hospital and police are investigating the incident to determine the identity of the driver.

They really shouldn't put people in jail for hitting some idiot crossing the highway. I mean how many more people need to die like that for them to realize they shouldn't cross a highway because cars drive fast and can't stop in time or sometimes can't see someone passing during the night. I myself have almost hit a dozen people crossing the highway and most of them either crossing from under a bridge or a few steps away from a bridge. Seriously these people are crazy and stupid w byeblo ghayron. Of course i am against hit and run because sometimes the person could still be alive and can be saved. but seriously this can happen to anyone and it is not the drivers fault.
