Lebanese Army arrests ring of ID forgers

BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army has arrested a ring of forgers who copied and sold identity cards, university degrees and other legal documents, a military communiqué said Tuesday.

“Army Intelligence in Beirut apprehended a gang made of three individuals involved in forging documents, identity cards, university degrees and verdicts issued by the military court in exchange for money,” said a statement released by the Lebanese Army.

The statement said forging machines were confiscated from the detained men.

It did not say when the men were arrested.
