BEIRUT: Firefighters put out a fire that ripped through a mattress factory in Mazraat Yashouh, north of Beirut, Friday.
The Civil Defense mobilized 11 firefighting vehicles to put out the fire which broke out around 8:00 a.m. at the Daou factory in the Metn region of Mazraat Yashoush.
About 20 workers fled the building after they saw smoke billowing from the windows.
Civil Defense sources said the factory had been completely destroyed.
Initial reports indicate the blaze was likely the cause of a short circuit when the generator started automatically after losing city power.
