BEIRUT: Areas at least 1,300 meters above sea level will experience heavy snow this holiday weekend, an announcement from Rafik Hariri International Airport said Friday.
Snow will start falling Friday night in the Cedars, one of Lebanon's highest points, at over 1,800 meters above sea level.
The weather in Beirut will be rainy and breezy Saturday, with a high of 18 C and a low of 12. As for the Cdears,where it is expected to be snowy and breezy, the high is expect to be 7 with lows of -1. In the eastern part of the country, the high will be 14, with lows of 1 with rainshowers.
As for Sunday, Beirut will witness heavy rain and thunderstorms with a high of 16 and a low of 11. As for the snowy Cedars, the high would be 5 with lows of -2. In east Lebanon, weather is expected to be rainy and windy with thunderstorms, with a high of 10 and a low of 1.
