BEIRUT: Police said Saturday an early morning explosion at a touristic venue in Kaslik, north of Beirut, was the result of a gas leak.
The explosion at Senses, located between the beach resorts of Solemar and Samaya on the sea-front road in Kaslik, occurred around 8.00 a.m. and led to material damage but no injuries.
Brig. Gen. Joseph al-Dowaihi of the Internal Security Forces said investigations revealed that the explosion was caused by a gas leak.
Security sources said the gas leak had taken place in the lobby area of the establishment.
