Traffic measures in place for Bastille Day in Beirut

BEIRUT: Special traffic measures will be in effect during Thursday’s celebration of Bastille Day, the police announced.

The measures, which will take effect in the neighborhood of Mathaf from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., coincide with a reception which is being held at the French ambassador’s residence to celebrate the anniversary of the French revolution.

Parking will be prohibited in the area of the residence, and the nearby Barbir tunnel will be closed to traffic, apart from those attending the reception.
