BEIRUT:Lebanon’s oldest and most popular comedian, Mahmoud Mabsout, better known as “Fahmen” died of a heart attack Monday at a hospital in Nabatieh.
Fahmen who made thousands of Lebanese laugh on the popular black and white TV show, Abou Salim Crew, collapsed on a stage in the city of Kfarssir during a play early morning on Monday.
He was rushed to Sheikh Ragheb Harb Hospital but died few hours later.
“He is not only famous he’s loved by everyone and he was our laughter in war days. We really love you Mahmoud Mabsout,” Eva Sarkis, a fan wrote on his Facebook page.
“I feel I lost an Uncle... RIP Mahmoud Mabsout Fehman,” another fan wrote.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at Imam Ali Mosque at al-Tariq al-Jadideh, in Beirut.
