BEIRUT: A large amount of mortar bombs, grenades and flares left over from a previous conflict were found Tuesday near a Beirut hospital, experts said.
The experts, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the arms were discovered in an empty lot in the vicinity of Zahraa hospital in Beirut’s Janah neighborhood.
They included seven Inerga-type rocket-propelled grenades, 15 Inerga heads, 16 flares and 180 mortar bombs.
Security forces had cordoned off the area around the hospital and experts were sent in to analyze the weapons.
