Lebanese woman first to earn aviation fellowship

BEIRUT: The International Civil Aviation Organization awarded its first postdoctoral fellowship to a Lebanese woman, a statement issued by Rafik Hariri International Airport said Thursday.

According to the statement, Nadine Itani was awarded the ICAO-Asaad Kotaite Graduate and Postdoctoral Fellowship Award for her doctoral thesis which she is currently pursuing in collaboration with Cranfield University in Britain.

Her work focuses on organizing and developing civil aviation strategies in Middle Eastern and North African states. Itani works at a consulting firm specializing in the aviation industry and is a lecturer in the Engineering and Business Administration faculties in Balamand University.

Itani was the only female among a significant number of applicants for the scholarship.

Is there a place where I can read her doctoral thesis?

Nadine Itani November 14, 2011 09:29 PM
Dear Bettina,
My thesis is still under development. But I will have a series of papers related to the thesis topic which will be published in academic air transport journals.
