BEIRUT: Beirut Arab University held a dinner in honor of professionals from various media organizations at Phoenicia Hotel Thursday.

The dinner was attended by a number of political officials as well as diplomats, and university heads.

BAU president Amro Jalal al-Adawi said that the university was honoring the media because of its role in spreading culture and knowledge and uncovering truth.

He also touched on the role of the university’s media center in training students before they begin their careers.

At the end of the dinner, the university president gave awards to several media organizations including An-Nahar newspaper, As-Safir newspaper, Al-Mustaqbal newspaper and The Daily Star.
