BEIRUT: Five cars rammed into each other beneath an overpass in the north Beirut suburb of Naccache Thursday, leaving one person killed and a Lebanese Army officer injured.
A security source identified the victim as 33-year-old Elie Antoun Shahhoud, adding that a Lebanese Army first lieutenant had suffered a broken leg as a result of the massive car accident.
Military police have launched an investigation into the incident.
In a separate incident in Khaldeh, east of Beirut, a man identified as Mohammad Mehdi Alameh, 25, was killed when his motorcycle skidded and crashed into the back of a truck parked on the side of a road.
