BEIRUT: One Lebanese was killed and four injured in separate incidents in Australia, the National News Agency reported Tuesday. The NNA said a Lebanese man was killed near a commercial center in Barclay Square, a suburb of Melbourne, adding that no further details were available about the murder.
Meanwhile, the NNA reported that four Lebanese were injured during a concert by Lebanese singer Tony Kiwan and other performers in Melbourne Friday night.
The incident occurred after security personnel intervened to prevent a woman from dancing on a table, according to the NNA. In the ensuing fight, in which knives were used, four people were injured, including a bystander who was seriously wounded after being stabbed several times.
Local newspaper The Age reported that the man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. The NNA reported that the man fell into a coma.
The Age also reported that two men from the Broadmeadows suburb were charged with affray and released on bail. Police are appealing for more information on the brawl, which involved around 30 men.
