BEIRUT: Hezbollah Deputy Secretary- General Sheikh Naim Qassem Sunday warned the Lebanese against falling prey to sectarian strife while also stressing his party’s readiness to confront Israel.
“Hezbollah is today more powerful, determined and ready to confront all challenges on the course which the party has long adopted and will continue to uphold,” Qassem said.
He added that “Hezbollah’s priority was to fight the Israeli enemy,” warning against “falling prey to strife between Sunnis and Shiites.”
Qassem said the Islamic world shared the same concerns posed by “global arrogance” seeking to dominate the region and the “cancer-like Israeli danger.”
“Based on those common concerns, we should cooperate and reconcile to form a united front rather than succumb to global arrogance,” he said.
