BEIRUT: The Directorate General of General Security opened Wednesday the new center for General Security at the Abboudieh-Dabousieh border point between Lebanon and Syria.
According to a statement issued by the directorate, the center has started receiving people arriving to and departing from Lebanon.
The center, which includes 26 halls and large parking lots, aims at providing comfort and ease of transit for all travelers whether entering or leaving the country, the statement said.
The new center is now located outside the border village of Abboudieh and will reduce the traffic in the village caused by the old center’s location.
It will also contribute to coordination with security and military forces in fighting all forms of smuggling and human trafficking as well as illegal entries into the country.
